Mozilla is set to launch version 3 of their popular browser Firefox and to celebrate the launch they have set up a pledge site where loyal users can be part of a Guinness record by pledging to download the release on the official launch day. Already over 1 million pledges have been made and with the launch day just around the corner it's going to be tight.

Firefox has been my browser of choice for many years now and I'm really looking forward to the release and all its new features, one of the most significant upgrades for me personally will be the promise of a overall improvement in the speed and performance of the browser, the current version suffers from consuming large amounts of memory when multiple tabs are open or while being in use for long periods. The frustrations of having the browser grind to a crawl day after day has been an absolute nightmare and has a huge impact on productivity.

One major concern I have so far with this new version is that in studio we have downloaded beta versions of the upcoming browser and have encountered some serious issues regarding the rendering of CSS and of websites in general, I'm quietly confident that all will be sorted come launch day which is just around the corner.

So fingers crossed people and don't forget to pledge your allegiance to FF3!
